Once again soldiers from the 147th Fighter Wing of the Texas Air National Guard were deployed overseas.  The 147th Fighter Wing is the primary defense of some of the nation's most important assets.  Among these critical resources are NASA's Johnson Space Center, the Texas Medical Center, and one of the world's largest petrochemical refining complexes! Ellington is now also home to the 149th, G Troop 124 Cavalry, 18 OMS Transportation divisions of the Army National Guard, and the US Coast Guard. 

A free meal and entertainment is being organized for the welcome home celebration.  See the official press release!  What a great way to say Thanks! to those who risk their lives in the service of this country. The welcome home party is scheduled for July 15, 2007 and attendance is expected to reach nearly 4,000 service men, women, and their families.
