SkippyP's is active in the local school system supporting carnivals and fundraisers. During recent disasters (read: hurricanes) we supported both Ellington Field and FEMA in feeding triage and emergency workers. Contact us to see if we can help your organization, too.
MS150 Since 2005, SkippyP’s has made the annual trek to LaGrange, Texas in support of riders biking from Houston to Austin to raise money and awareness for Muscular Sclerosis. Served at the halfway point of their ride, the teams that hire us can choose from dinner or dinner and breakfast in their own tentsite, helping them on their journey to end MS. It’s rough and rustic, and a fantastic time for everyone. SkippyP’s also invests in MS research by sponsoring riders in the BP MS150. SkippyP’s is a preferred vendor for the ride, and we’re always happy to provide references from event organizers and teams, past and proposed menus, and create a custom meal plan for your team. Are you a team captain or want to know more about our support of the MS150? Call or e-mail us today! For more information on the MS150 rides, visit www.ms150.org
Operation BBQ and HOME Operation BBQ for Our Troops is a grassroots effort to serve those in the military who serve us. SkippyP’s has organized and executed several OpBBQs here in the Houston area (see our blog entry for how it all went down), and has supported others throughout the United States by helping cook and serve, or by sending our sauces and rubs. It’s a fantastic feeling to see volunteers pour out in support of our troops, and to see those servicemen and women, and their families, enjoy a day of food and festivities. With more than 10,000 plates served, and thousands more supported nationwide, SkippyP’s is blessed and honored to give back. Help Our Military Endure (HOME) is a nonprofit organization that sends care packages to the United States military men and women serving in far off countries - mainly Iraq and Afghanistan. We have sent thousands of care packages through HOME over the last few years and continue to send packages year round. SkippyP’s is honored to support HOME through the donation of our products.
